Growth tools and link-in-bio

The four entry points that start a flow from outside the app: ref URLs, QR codes, a website widget and a bio link.

Growth tools are the doors into your automations from outside social media. Each one is a trackable entry point that can start a flow.

The four kinds

Kind What it is
Ref URL A trackable link that starts your flow when someone opens it
QR code A scannable code for print, packaging or in-person moments
Website widget An embeddable entry point for your own site
Bio link A link-in-bio destination that funnels profile visitors in

How one works

Each tool has a public address of its own. Someone arriving through it is recorded as having entered by that route, becomes a contact, and (if you have linked one) triggers the automation you chose.

The referral link entry and link-in-bio tap triggers in the automation builder are what these fire.

Naming and slugs

Each tool carries a name for you and a slug for the URL. Slugs are lowercase words separated by hyphens, and generated ones carry a random suffix so two tools cannot collide.

Name them after the place they live, not the campaign: "table card", "packaging insert", "instagram bio". You will thank yourself when you are reading the numbers in six months.

Attribution is the point

The reason to use four different tools rather than one link everywhere is that you then know which one worked. A QR code on packaging and a link in your bio are different audiences having different conversations, and only separate entries can tell you which.

QR codes in the real world

Print it large enough to scan from where people will stand, and put a sentence next to it saying what happens when they do. An unlabelled QR code is a request for trust with no offer attached.
