Idea limits and refreshes

Four separate numbers govern the idea pool, and they are frequently confused with each other.

The four numbers

Pool size: how many ideas are in your browsable pool at once.

Save cap: how many ideas you may keep in your saved library.

Usable ideas: how many ideas you may convert into output. On the free plan this is a lifetime allowance, not a monthly one: see thirty, use three, then choose a plan. On paid plans it is unlimited.

Regeneration cooldown: how long before you can force a fresh pool rather than waiting for the daily refresh.

The current figures for your plan are in plans and what's in them, which reads them from the live plan configuration rather than repeating them here: a number written in two places is a number that will eventually disagree with itself.

The daily refresh

A scheduled job tops up the pool for brands that are due, so the pool refills on its own without you asking. What "due" means depends on your cadence and on how much of the pool you have actually worked through.

Forcing a refresh

Paid plans can request a fresh pool ahead of the daily job, subject to the cooldown. The free plan's taster pool is fixed: there is no reroll, because the pool is the sample rather than a renewable supply.

Why browsing is free and using is not

Generating the pool is cheap; generating a content plan is not. The metered action is therefore conversion, not browsing, which is why you can read every idea in the pool on any plan, and why the wall you eventually hit is at the "Use" button rather than at the page.
