Ideas
The idea pool
A standing pool of angles generated for your brand and refreshed on a cadence. How the states work and why ideas disappear on their own.
Ideas is a standing pool of content angles generated for your brand. It exists so that "what do I post about" is never the thing that stops you.
How the pool works
The pool is generated against your brand profile and refreshed on a cadence: a daily job tops up the brands that are due. You do not request ideas one at a time; you browse what is there.
What you can do with an idea
Use it: turn it into a content plan. This is the point of the pool, and it is covered in turning an idea into a plan.
Save it: keep it in your library for later.
Dismiss it: push it out of the active pool because it is off-brand or uninteresting.
Pin it: protect it. A nightly sweep archives ideas that have been shown repeatedly without being acted on; pinned ideas survive it.
The states
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active / shown | In the browsable pool: surfaced, not yet acted on |
| Saved | Kept deliberately in your library |
| Used | Converted into a content plan |
| Dismissed | Pushed out by you |
| Archived | Retired automatically by the nightly sweep |
Why ideas disappear
An idea that has been shown three times without being used, or that has sat untouched for a fortnight, is archived overnight. This is deliberate: without it, the pool becomes an ever-growing backlog that you stop reading, which is the same as having no pool.
If an idea matters to you, pin it or save it. Those are the two signals that stop the sweep.
If the pool feels generic
The pool is only as good as the brand profile behind it. Ideas that could belong to any business in your category almost always trace back to a broad Niche or Audience: tighten those, and the next refresh improves. See your brand profile.
