Which edition you are on

TrendSuite ships in more than one edition from one codebase. Which one you get, what the larger ones add, and how to tell them apart.

TrendSuite ships in more than one edition, all built from one codebase: TrendSuite Lite and the full app are the two most people meet, and there is an agency edition described at the bottom. They are the same product with a different amount of it switched on, so a fix lands in all of them at once and none drifts from the others.

Lite is the one you are almost certainly on. It is what signing up for TrendSuite gives you. The full app is the larger edition, and moving to it is a separate arrangement rather than a button (see the bottom of this page).

Why the standard edition is the smaller one

Most people who want help posting consistently do not want a fourteen-screen marketing suite. Lite is the product for them: one path (describe a topic, get a plan, put it on the calendar, post it) with the surfaces that exist to manage scale removed, because at one brand and one person there is no scale to manage.

It is not a trial and not a crippled build, and it is not a step down from something else. It is the product, sized for the person using it. The full app is what you move to when you are running several brands or a team, and it adds the surfaces below rather than unlocking them.

What Lite includes

The whole authoring path: the dashboard, ideas, content plans, posts, the calendar, comments on your own posts, brand and voice, connected accounts and settings. Client approvals appear for the plans that include them.

The Inbox and Automations are in Lite as well. Both were switched off here once and are not any more, so an older description of Lite that leaves them out is out of date rather than describing a different plan. Automations remain a paid feature on both editions, so what you find there depends on your plan, not on your edition.

Lite also has one screen the full app does not. Auto reply is a single-purpose version of comment-to-DM, stated in one sentence: when someone comments a word on your post, we send them a message. It is the same engine underneath as the full automation builder, with the builder removed.

What the full app adds

The surfaces that exist for multi-brand, multi-person or high-volume work, and that Lite therefore leaves out:

  • Studio: the visual editor
  • Performance: post analytics
  • Contacts, Segments, Broadcasts and Growth tools: the rest of the audience CRM
  • Automation analytics and Automation schedules
  • Posting times: cadence tuning for a multi-platform schedule Lite does not have

These are not hidden behind a teaser. The rows are absent and the URLs redirect to the dashboard rather than showing a 404, because our own lifecycle emails link to some of them.

How to tell which one you are on

Look for Studio and Performance in the sidebar. Both present means the full app; both absent means Lite, which is the usual answer.

Use those two rows and not the shape of the menu. Lite keeps the same grouped sidebar, and it keeps an Audience group too since the Inbox, Automations and Comments are all in it, so neither the grouping nor that section tells the two apart any more.

Reading these docs on Lite

This documentation covers the full product, and pages about a full-app-only surface say so at the top. Nothing is hidden from you for being on Lite: seeing what the larger edition does is the point.

The agency edition

Agencies running many client brands have their own address. It is not a third size of the product: it is the full app, plus one screen the other editions do not have, a board across every client brand so the first thing you see is which client needs you today rather than one brand's summary.

If you are on it, you already know, because it is a different address you were given deliberately. Everything else in these docs applies to it.

Moving between them

The two editions are separate deployments, not a setting inside your account. Moving from Lite to the full app is a change to which application you use, not an upgrade button; contact support and we will sort it out.
