Writing a post yourself

Posts → New post is the one surface in the product where nothing is generated. Your words, your picture, your timing.

Why it exists

Every other route into the schedule runs through generating a plan first. That is the right default and a bad only-option: sometimes you already know exactly what you want to say, and being told to generate a fortnight of content around it is absurd.

This door is available on every plan and on both editions, deliberately.

Composing

Write the caption, attach media if you want it, choose the platforms, and pick a time, or publish immediately.

The time offered by default comes from your posting cadence, which exists precisely to save you picking a sensible hour every time.

Per-network captions

A post going to more than one platform can carry a different caption for each. Use it. The same words in every room is the pattern that reads as broadcast.

On the Lite board

TrendSuite Lite reaches the same composer from the calendar board rather than a separate page: the plus on a day column opens a sheet where you write the post in place. Adding a piece from a plan works the same way, and on the networks that support it you can place that piece as a Story instead of a feed post.

Editing a draft

Opening an existing draft loads it back into the composer in edit mode. Submitting updates that draft and schedules it: it does not create a second copy, which is a mistake worth not making at 11pm.
